as for identi.ca my only problem with using it is readding all the contacts i already have on twitter/jaiku. i had a pownce account but i only used it to check pownce out, because i never though it was worth the trouble of readding all my friends
The fact that Pownce is dying doesn't affect me all that much.
I do believe that Jaiku going down the drain would a real shame though.
But the truth of the matter is that most people I know still do prefer twitter, even with all of its faults and limitations and Jaiku has been dead in the water for far too long.
i think pownce had really great features, but it came too late in the game. i think jaiku came at the right time but it didn't give the users that big a reason to flee from twitter

@jneves: even if Laconica/Identica implements everything from twitter it will still be behind Jaiku.
I've been pressing @evan to create Channels, Threads, privacy options, but he doesnt seem to keen on it.
I would love to be more of a coder and implement those things...
